About Tianyu
I love making videos and short films of things happening around me, and I was inspired greatly by the diversity of Shanghai where I grew up. And also, I have spent parts of my life in Australia, the UK and the US. This mix of urban and intimate environment shaped me into who I am today. I’m also a fan of traveling who has visited a great number of cities and countries. This kind of traveling experience gives me the chance to know more about the real world and broaden my horizon. I aim to build a bridge of communication between the diverse cultures through a shared appreciation for film and art. Before starting my MFA in Film Production at USC, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Film and a bachelor’s degree in Dance at Skidmore College.
